AFFECTED CROP:

Polyphagous species, found in more than 400 types of fruits and vegetables: apricot, avocado, banana, citrus, coffee, fig, guava, loquat, mango, papaya, passion fruit, peach, pear, persimmon, pineapple and tomato.

 

DAMAGES:

The female stings the fruit with her ovipositor appendage and deposits the eggs inside. Subsequently, larvae emerge and feed on the fruit causing damage.
